about DMAD
DMAD, Marine Mammals Research Association is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. It aim to raise awareness and create an ecological consciousness of critical habitats regarding the marine biodiversity in the Levantine, Aegean and Adriatic Seas. AS an NGO, DMAD is trying to achieve this conservation goal by supporting citizen science, raising ecological awareness implementing effective conservation strategies and focusing on research in order to create the management skills that are necessary for restoring and protecting healthy marine mammal populations and ecosystems.

DMAD, in just 5 years, have already created 7 conservation projects, in three different countries and have seen more than 200 volunteers working at their stations. By teaching actual conservation methods, taking interns on the field and confronting them to the reality of data collecting, DMAD is forming a new generation of conservation scientists and plays a big part in making them efficient scientists not only in the field but also at the station through divers software training (GIS, R, Pythagoras, Razer).
